HELP US PRESERVE THE LEGACY OF CHARLOTTE JAZZ LEGEND LOONIS MCGLOHON
Through the ages of time the rich history and cultural traditions of nations and communities have been taught by one generation to the next to provide a secure sense of home and optimism. Indeed, past makers of history are revered for their extraordinary work, talent, and leadership.
Here in Mecklenburg County one history maker whom we all loved and revered was the internationally admired and respected Jazz musician, Loonis McGlohon.
Charlotte’s Trail of History Board recently selected Loonis as one of its next historical figures to honor by creating a larger-than-life bronze statue placed along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway in uptown Charlotte.
You can be a part of this history by financially supporting this community project that will leave a wonderful legacy in Mecklenburg County.
